Summerset Senior Living Celebrates Love

With Valentine’s Day approaching, we would like to celebrate love.  It springs eternal and knows no age limits.

It does not think about retirement dates, nor physical or mental limits or setbacks. Most of us who have lived and loved would say that love only gets better with age. The current shift in millennial culture pays little attention to the love stories of seniors and sadly does not always appreciate the sentiment or stories in what they have to share.  Seniors in love tend to be more committed than today’s youth, and often set an example to show the rest of us how it should be done. https://sierraregency.com/

Benefits of love in our older years has many facets.  We tend to appreciate those we love more as we reminisce of memorable times that were shared.  We find joy in seeing those we love smile when we show our love by doing something kind.  Cooking and/or writing for those we love shows how much we continue to care while keeping our skills fresh.  Remembering what initially attracted you to each other and talking about it helps keep the spark not only in our hearts, but in our eyes when our loved ones enter the room.

Sharing stories with your children and grandchildren about the history of your courtship will not only keep your mind fresh with great memories, but will also instill loving values in them to carry forward.

Celebrate your love in a memorable way by taking a walk, watching a special movie, creating a project together or simply reading together.

Embrace all those that you love and let them know not only this Valentine’s Day, but every day how much they mean to you everyday.

Happy Valentine’s Day Everyone!

2019 Popular Wedding Film Styles

Popular Wedding Film Styles

You’ve decided that having a wedding video is an absolute must (good choice – a lot of couples regret saying “no” to video). Your next decision is the type of wedding film style you want. Once you’ve explored and found your favorite, you can look for a videographer with a matching aesthetic. https://indigoskystudios.com/sacramento-wedding-photography/

Cinematic
In cinematic wedding videography, you’ll notice some of the same angles, filters and transitions you’ve seen in the movies (aerial shots and slow motion, for example). Instead of adhering to the timeline of the day, the videographer will create a non-linear video that evokes a certain emotion and theme. This creative approach means you’ll have a wedding video that looks like a bona fide film.

Journalistic
Journalistic wedding videography (or documentary wedding videography) takes a different approach: the day is presented in a linear timeline, showing everything from morning prep to the end of the reception. Your videographer may even interview the bride, groom and guests for commentary, then use the sound bites to enhance the story.

Short Form
Short form wedding films are edited versions of the full video. They typically range from 15 to 50 minutes, showcasing the brightest and most touching moments that capture the emotion of the day without dragging on. While short form films can be journalistic, they’re best when cinematic because the style allows for more creativity. Your videographer may also provide the full length video.

Storytelling
Storytelling wedding videography is a type of cinematic film style that incorporates elements to tell the couple’s love story. For example, your videographer may add narration, music or text to put a focus on the bride and groom’s experience. Aesthetic elements and amusing parts of the day are usually left out.

Traditional
Traditional wedding videography is captured with a handheld camera and without additional cinematic equipment, like drones. There’s a focus on the wedding ceremony and reception, but not on smaller details and candid moments. These videos may be two or three hours long.

Important Exterior Home Maintenance (& Improvement) Tasks from Sacramento

https://alwaysshinewindows.com/

Keeping up with exterior maintenance is critical to your home’s long-term health. With good exterior maintenance, you can keep your home in great shape year round. We have a special addition this month – some excellent information on solar from our friends at A1 Solar!

Below you’ll find some of the recommended exterior maintenance items. Good news…Always Shine can help with ALL of these!

  • Clean exterior windows: Clean exterior windows make your home look nice — but they also protect the lifespan of your windows. Over time, harsh elements outdoors can damage your windows. Weather damage, pollution, minerals, rust, and other elements can adhere to the glass, causing buildup and damage. Clean your windows, and you’ll not only see better outside, you’ll keep your windows healthy and well maintained.
  • Clean gutters: Gutters often get clogged with leaves, seeds, and other debris. This can lead to problems including overflow, mold, rot, pest infestations, and even flooding damage. It an also diminish the lifespan of your shingles and paint. While gutter cleaning is especially important in late fall, it is important year-round to keep your drainage system working free of cloges and to avoid damage. You should also inspect your gutters for damage and sagging and repair any issues.
  • Clean your driveway and walkways: Your driveway and walkways are full of dirt, grime, mold, mildew, and toxins — and all of those can be tracked into your home and even cause slips and falls. Pressure wash your driveway and walkways, removing not just stains, but harmful buildup.
  • Pressure wash exterior walls: Whether you have siding, brick, stone, or stucco, you’ll need to periodically pressure wash exterior walls to remove mold, mildew, and dirt. Doing so helps to discourage rot and makes your home look more attractive. Add Roof cleaning/moss removal to this list.
  • Solar Panel Cleaning: Solar Panel Cleaning is absolutely necessary if you want to maximize the return on your investment and keep your system shining brightly.

Sacramento SEO Expert

Here are a few things that a SEO Sacramento company who’s services are worth their cost would do for you. I am giving you this information because I care about the success of your business – whether you use my services or somebody else’s. I just want you to know what should be done for your business in the best case scenario – the way our company would do it.

First of all, you need to understand who is looking for your services or products, and what keywords they use. This is keyword research, and it is extremely important to do it right. For one, you need to find all the main keywords your products or services are searched for. This is basics. The difficulty here is that all your competitors are probably already targeting these keywords too, because this is what the high-volume traffic is looking for. But what about the low-volume traffic? What about the searches that don’t have any competition, because nobody has discovered them yet? Remember, low-volume doesn’t mean low-value, quite the opposite. The untargeted traffic can bring you quite a bit of business. Our company takes this into account while performing keyword research for you.

The next important questions to answer after researching keywords is – how are you ranking for these keywords right now and what does Google think of your site? Does it even see it? Is it all the way down because you’ve made some simple (or not so simple) errors that Google is punishing you for? Could you be on top of all of your competition? (You could, and we’ve done it many times for our clients). What on-page SEO could be done to improve your positions? What linking strategy should you use? What resources for link-building does your SEO company have? We are proud to say that we never buy links (for which Google can punish you, since they are not stupid in 2015). All the links that we use come from our own manually built private blog networks.

Further on, what about your content? Is it original? Is it relevant? Does it contain keywords? Is it over-optimised, too saturated with keywords? Did you know that Google can punish you for that too? Do you know how to effectively use synonyms for your keywords in your content? Do you have duplicate content? These and other important questions are what we focus on in our work to optimize your content for higher ranking results.

Finally, what SEO strategy do you have for future? SEO work shouldn’t be just a one-time thing. Google is changing it’s algorithms all the time, and your competitors are working on their rankings as well, so it is very important to maintain your rankings over time. We will analyze your current position and create an effective strategy for you to keep your site high on the first page of the search.

I hope this information is useful for you and your business and I will be happy to hear from you!

Nicholas & Lindsey

Lindsey & Nick met the “old fashioned” way – at a bar. It took a couple of months of crossing paths, though, before she finally gathered the courage to approach him. Lindsey borrowed a line from the song “Call Me Maybe?” which happened to be playing at the moment and it worked – when Nick called later that night, Lindsey invited him to join her on a late night walk with her pug, Louie. The only catch was that he’d have to find her.

Since the two lived only a few blocks apart in midtown, his chances were pretty good. He managed to catch up with her and soon, hours had flown by. Just before sunrise they found themselves slow dancing without music in the Capitol World Peace Rose Garden, then sharing their first kiss. What a start to a relationship!

Moving in together followed, and they shared life’s events together. There was personal loss, job changes, and weddings. Being able to console, advise and celebrate with each other taught them a lot about one another. There was no need to rush things – they took life day by day, as not let things get too serious too quickly despite what the universe had planned.

Time rolled by and soon spring had arrived. Lindsey & Nicholas had a date night planned, starting with a bike ride through downtown, and people watching in the rose garden before a nice dinner. But when they reached the capitol, Nick hopped off and started walking his bike. The thing was, he had a ring box tucked into his sock and it had been hitting the bike’s pedal the entire time. So they walked along and talked, with the conversation becoming ever more personal as they neared the spot where they first kissed.

Then, before Lindsey realized what was happening, Nick had dropped onto one knee, asking if she would be his wife. Breaking down into tears, she said yes as he slid a ring onto her shaking left hand. After taking a moment to collect herself, they rode to a nearby watering hole for a celebratory shot and a phone call to family to share the news. There was going to be a wedding!

The big day arrived, with the bride looking lovely in her strapless satin gown, accented by a pop of color from bright pink/magenta heels. “It was not what I thought I would have worn, but man, did I love my dress!” Lindsey says. “It had everything: lace, tulle, satin, a train, buttons, and more. It was comfortable and flattering, which was most important to me. I didn’t want to have to worry about certain posture and wanted my dress to flow with me. It was figure hugging in the front, with a mermaid silhouette followed by a ruffled booty that flowed into the multi-layered train. It looks amazing in all the photos, and it stayed in place so I could focus on the party!”

Looking so great didn’t come without a hitch, though: “I was headed down to the ceremony site, and as the music was playing I attempted to pull my veil over my face and I couldn’t – it had been put on upside down! So I ducked behind some foliage,  ripped my veil out and flipped that sucker over as quick as I could and stabbed it back into my scalp, hoping it didn’t disrupt my beautiful ‘do. Just then I saw my father and just lost it, tears streaming down my face. Thankfully I now had a properly installed veil to hide behind and no one was the wiser!”

Of course, the rest of the wedding party was looking good as well. Each bridesmaid wore a different pastel color and the men were dashing in navy blue. The ladies had mixed wildflower bouquets that complimented their attire, and the guys had succulents wound with copper wire.

It rained the morning of the wedding, so a beautiful dew covered the venue and really set a romantic vibe. The remote country location had no service, forcing everyone to spend the day unplugged and keeping them all in the moment – priceless. Lindsey and Nick had been aiming for a certain feeling. A notch below formal, but not casual.

A family friend stepped up to officiate and it was decided that the couple would recite vows rather than write their own, in an attempt to make the ceremony quick and fun. They got more than they bargained for, however, when instead of promising to “work hard,” the groom committed himself to “stay hard” – setting off laughter in the assembled crowd and a truly blushing bride. Good thing there were no kids on hand!

Finally, it was time to eat! Lindsey had attended a wedding in Italy the previous summer where they had an open grill. Right then she knew that was how it would be at her own wedding, so there was meat on the grill for all you can eat tacos. And an open bar too! What a party!

And for dessert, a three tier Funfetti cake with buttercream frosting made by a family friend and decorated with flowers on site. Plus, churros for the coffee bar.

Later, Nick’s dad and a family friend played live music for the crowd, and the party continued with old school hip hop and R&B to keep the vibe going.

The evening ended with an exciting sparkler exit when Lindsey, spinning around, nearly set her hair on fire but was saved by her groom! Looking back, Lindsey says that it was very rewarding to see her wedding come together so well. “I never really dreamed about my wedding, which made planning it a challenge. I wanted to elope, but being an only child, Nick wanted a wedding. That was my first wifey compromise! We had a long engagement, which was gave me time to plan the entire thing.”

She advises, “The sooner you realize that a wedding is not really for you, the better. Breathe. Take it all in. It flies by and you want to enjoy what you worked so hard to plan and prepare. ”

She cautions brides not to try to do it all themselves: “I knew I could have been a bridezilla so I leveraged resources and asked for help to ensure my mental health was prioritized. The venue had the staff, tables, linens, decor and more covered which allowed me to focus my energy elsewhere. It also saved us money having it all included. We just had to show up to a styling appointment and set the schedule. I couldn’t have imagined having to order tables, plates and other small items.”

And finally, “Have someone on hand to keep things on track and managing the crowd. Like chasing wandering guests from the bridal suite, or stopping people from touching things that had been styled. And ensuring the schedule is executed and people are where they are supposed to be, for example for photos.”

HOW TO CRUSH YOUR ENGAGEMENT SHOOT | ESMERALDA AND ROBERT

How to Crush you Engagement shoot, I really wanted to blog about this subject this week because its something I have been asked about a lot. Some of the top things I hear from my clients are, We are awkward and nervous in front of the camera. Where do you think we should shoot, what do I wear, etc etc. so I am here to tell you my beautiful clients and maybe even someones else beautiful clients how to totally kill your engagement session.

Step one -pick an awesome photographer even if its not me haha find someone  who you connect with in some way, a connection to their work, their style, their hometown whatever it might be. Also a great photographer will help you with prompts and help make you feel at ease in front of the camera.

Step two- “where do we shoot”? again I am going to use the word connection, find a place that the two of you love together, maybe its the place you actually got engaged. Maybe its your favorite hiking trail. Maybe your beach bums and 50 percent of your relationship revolves around being at the beach. Find that connection. I while ago I got photograph a couple who’s favorite thing to do together was off road jeeping yes thats right. So what did we do, we took that jeep out and all three of us went off roading it was a blast and eventually I will blog that session haha.

Step three – you’ve got your photographer, your location and now comes what to wear, this is one of the funnest parts for me and you can really use your location to your advantage, If your location is a lake and the two of you love paddle boarding throw on a swimsuit! get out there and do some paddle boarding together. If you guys are motorcyclists put on that sexy leather, Use your location and the things that you love to do to help you plan out your outfits. Also for my personal shooting style it never hurts to have something with lots of movement but thats just me haha.

Step four- this is the most important thing of all, BE YOURSELF. Stop worrying about how your engagement photos will compare to your friend Stacy and Brad’s you know Stacy and Brad, we all know a Stacy and Brad. They are that #couplesgoals couple. Forgot them, you are your own couple and you get to revel in it, this is your time!  Don’t worry about how awkward you think you look, you don’t.  Think about the time your partner asked you to marry them think about the day you met. Think about your upcoming wedding day and just have fun!

Ok thats it thats all the advice I have for you Now Im going to let Esmeralda and Robert show you how its done.

Sacramento Kitchen Remodeling

Remodeling your kitchen is an exciting process. You probably spend a lot of time in your kitchen each day, so this is the kind of project that you will get to enjoy for years to come. Whether you simply want some new counters or you want to renovate the entire space, America’s Advantage remodeling is here to help.

If you are looking for kitchen remodeling ideas to kick off your upcoming project, you’ve come to the right place. Let’s take a look at a few ideas you may want to incorporate into your plans.

Upgrade Your Counters

Okay – so this isn’t exactly a creative idea, as it is something that most people seek to do when completing a kitchen remodel. Yet, we still need to mention it here, as it is often the best place to start your plans. Once you determine what kind of counters you want to use, and how you want those counters to look, the rest of the job may fall into place nicely.

How About Two Ovens?

For someone who loves to cook – and bake, specifically – designing a kitchen with two ovens is an interesting idea. Every serious home cook has run into trouble at one time or another with not having enough space in the oven for everything on the menu. Including a second oven in your final design may be surprisingly affordable, and you’ll have much more flexibility when it comes to planning your meals.

Respect the Value of Space

One of the most important simple kitchen renovation ideas to remember is that empty space can be quite valuable. In other words, you don’t want to overcrowd your kitchen in order to pack in as many features as possible. Having plenty of room to move around as you cook – and having plenty of room for your guests when having a party – is valuable.

Think Big Picture

When having a remodel completed in your kitchen, you don’t want to have to go back and make further changes only a few years down the line. This is a project you want to stand the test of time, so do your best to think ahead while planning the project. Is your life set to change in a meaningful way in the years to come? For instance, are you going to have children, or do you have young children who will quickly be getting bigger and needing more space?

Avoid Extremes

It’s likely that your house is one of the most valuable assets you own – if not the most valuable. With that in mind, spending money on a kitchen renovation which is unusual in some major way probably isn’t the best idea. For instance, let’s just say you never use an oven when you cook – should you leave an oven out of your plan? Maybe not – when the time comes to sell your home, the new owner is almost certainly going to want such a standard feature. This is a basic example, but you get the idea. Avoid doing anything that is going to make it harder for you to get top dollar for your home later on.

When looking for kitchen design & remodeling ideas, remember to view everything through your own lens. Think about your needs, preferences, and long-term goals before finalizing your design. And, of course, feel free to contact America’s Advantage Remodeling for assistance. We can help with the design phase of your job, and we can then bring it to life once the design is finalized. Thanks for reading, and we hope to work with you soon!
